Mingle on Main is looking for volunteers, attendance is on the rise!
For the second year, Main Street of Perry has been hosting Mingle on Main on the last Friday of the month on the downtown square and last Friday they saw one of the biggest number of visitors yet.
It was family night. Community members were encouraged to come to the square and bring their children too.
We had food trucks, an ice cream truck, games, music, cotton candy and more. Children were encouraged to wear their swimsuits and play on the inflatable water slide and inflatable obstacle course.
The inflatables were a huge hit and children lined up to do them again and again.More than a dozen businesses stayed open late to accommodate the extra people downtown and encouraged them to visit the shops.
Just as the sun was going down, the movie, Zootopia started.
We are actively seeking committee members and volunteers. We need volunteers with new fresh ideas who want to be involved and want to help. Interested people can drop by the Main Street office and pick up and fill out a volunteer packet.
As a non-profit organization, nothing is more important to Perry Main Street than our volunteers. We strive to treat them right, enrich their lives and have some fun. The last thing they want to do is waste the volunteer’s time or give them a task they don’t want to do. The volunteer application form has questions that will help them find the perfect fit for each person.
It was a girls night out for this group as they got ready to watch Zootopia, an animated feature shown last Friday on the square during Mingle on Main. Pictured, left to right, are Vidia Nolte and Topanga, Selena, Jennifer and Zoey Bornt.
